    Restoration and reuse of Ulva House following community ownership, bringing an important historic building back into active use through partnership and careful stewardship.

    Walled Garden

    A project to bring part of the historic walled garden back into use as a community growing space, with shelter and storage to support volunteers, learning and shared use.

    Ulva Landing Craft

    An ongoing project exploring the case for a community-owned landing craft, with initial focus on consultation, business planning, and early design work to improve access and resilience for Ulva.

    Ulva Church

    Exploring the future of the historic Telford-designed Ulva Church through community consultation, professional assessment and early-stage planning, laying the groundwork for its long-term care and reuse.

    Ulva Pathways

    A project to improve and maintain Ulva’s network of paths, supporting safe access for residents and visitors while helping to protect the island’s landscape.

    Water Treatment Upgrade

    Ongoing project to improve the water quality, reliability and resilience.

    Housing Renovations

    A programme of works completed in 2021 to renovate six residential properties, bringing them up to a standard suitable for long-term lets and increasing Ulva’s resident population from 5 to 17.

    Ulva Pier

    Improvements completed in 2022, to support safer year-round access for residents, the fishing community and visitors.

  • Reintroduction of Agriculture

    A 2022/23 project to reintroduce active farming on Ulva through a new agricultural tenancy, supporting land management, biodiversity, and the long-term sustainability of the island as a lived-in, working place.
